Escape from Politics: Is There a Future for Youth Political Protests in Siberia and the Far East?

In the last few years, great attention has been paid to protest potential of students, especially in context mass protests 2021-2022, which happened at both federal and regional levels. An important scientific issue, is practical importance for public authorities politicians, determining motivations actualization student movements, as most organized segment youth environment. Based on results 14 focus groups held 8 border regions Siberia Far East (including Altai Krai, Zabaykalsky Primorsky Krai Khabarovsk Omsk Oblast, well Tyva, Buryatia Republics) analysis social media blogosphere mentioned regions, author suggests that students experience fears, weariness, disappointment. However, factors actualizing moods are highly limited. Actual precedents threats criminal prosecution have applied political activists by government since 2019, pressure from socialization agents, lead demoralization their refusal participate not only but also pro-government events.
